Rotterdam might just be a hop, skip, and a jump away, but boy, does it pack a punch! This year, I kicked off my epic KIT & The City tour, and let me tell you, Rotterdam is strutting its stuff more than ever!
My journey began with a blast from the past - the vintage Feyenoord home kit from the '80s took center stage. With a 12-course feast lined up at Restaurant Trés, exploring Rotterdam before and after was a no-brainer for the pedometer. Starting near the iconic Erasmus Bridge, I found myself in an artsy neighborhood (hello, photomuseum!) with mouthwatering food and vibrant street art that made crossing the bridge a tough decision. But hey, a ticket to the Ai Weiwei exhibition at Kunsthal Rotterdam sealed the deal.
After indulging in some retail therapy at chic designer stores, a cozy night's rest at Hotel Bruno Roommate set me up for a hearty breakfast and a peaceful visit to De Kuip stadium before the big match against Sparta Rotterdam.
Next time/next stop: the fan store and a new stadium adventure! Will it be ‘Het Kasteel’ or the ‘Van Donge & De Roo’ stadium (or maybe both)?
Rotterdam, you have a special place in my heart!
